Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.07% By Investing.com


Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the declined 0.07%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Sigma Foods SAB de CV (), which rose 2.16% or 0.35 points to trade at 16.52 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. () added 1.95% or 2.48 points to end at 129.50 and Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) was up 1.92% or 5.41 points to 286.75 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (), which fell 1.96% or 1.14 points to trade at 57.11 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV () declined 1.43% or 0.56 points to end at 38.63 and Grupo Financiero Banorte () was down 1.41% or 2.59 points to 180.87.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 121 to 115 and 17 ended unchanged.

for August delivery was down 1.77% or 71.65 to $3,980.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, for delivery in August fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $79.58 a barrel, while the September contract fell 0.02% or 0.02 to trade at $84.91 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.12% to 17.44, while EUR/MXN rose 0.06% to 19.94.
