Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.74% By Investing.com


Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the added 0.74% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (), which rose 4.33% or 0.20 points to trade at 4.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Magazine Luiza SA () added 4.22% or 0.18 points to end at 4.44 and Ultrapar Participacoes SA () was up 3.50% or 0.93 points to 27.88 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ISA Energia Brasil SA Preferencial (), which fell 4.29% or 1.24 points to trade at 27.69 at the close. Azzas 2154 SA () declined 1.15% or 0.20 points to end at 17.14 and Marfrig Global Foods () was down 0.94% or 0.16 points to 16.78.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 508 to 341 and 43 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.30% to 30.08.

for August delivery was up 1.48% or 61.21 to $4,186.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $68.78 a barrel, while the September contract fell 2.50% or 7.75 to trade at $302.15 .

USD/BRL was down 0.63% to 5.17, while EUR/BRL fell 0.65% to 5.93.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 100.61.
