France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.47% By Investing.com


Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the fell 0.47%, while the index lost 0.43%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (), which rose 2.27% or 0.37 points to trade at 16.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA () added 1.51% or 0.25 points to end at 16.78 and Thales () was up 1.36% or 3.00 points to 223.10 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Publicis Groupe SA (), which fell 4.03% or 3.68 points to trade at 87.70 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV () declined 3.91% or 2.19 points to end at 53.80 and Stellantis NV () was down 3.13% or 0.16 points to 5.08.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Voltalia SA () which rose 3.00% to 6.87, Dassault Aviation SA () which was up 2.37% to settle at 285.40 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) which gained 2.27% to close at 16.47.

The worst performers were Forvia () which was down 6.21% to 8.71 in late trade, X Fab Silicon Foundries EV () which lost 6.20% to settle at 7.12 and Ubisoft Entertainment () which was down 4.24% to 5.51 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 286 to 173 and 85 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Futures for August delivery was up 0.74% or 29.55 to $4,021.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, for delivery in August rose 3.76% or 2.97 to hit $81.92 a barrel, while the September contract rose 3.53% or 2.97 to trade at $87.20 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.85.

The Futures was up 0.03% at 100.60.
