Italy stocks higher at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 up 1.08% By Investing.com


Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Milan, the rose 1.08%.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (), which rose 7.15% or 4.18 points to trade at 62.65 at the close. Meanwhile, DiaSorin SpA () added 4.45% or 2.96 points to end at 69.54 and UniCredit SpA () was up 2.58% or 2.06 points to 81.92 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Avio SpA (), which fell 3.90% or 1.27 points to trade at 31.32 at the close. Saipem SpA () declined 2.97% or 0.14 points to end at 4.41 and Fincantieri SpA () was down 2.83% or 0.34 points to 11.68.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 404 to 265 and 54 ended unchanged.

for August delivery was down 2.01% or 1.48 to $72.04 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, for delivery in September fell 1.99% or 1.55 to hit $76.47 a barrel, while the August contract rose 1.32% or 53.69 to trade at $4,136.09 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.85.
